Our busy distracted world causes us to feel disconnected from ourselves and everything around us. So practicing mindfulness is actually necessary to help bring us back to who we really are and to remember that we can do this anywhere and anytime.
Mindfulness is the practice of noticing- becoming aware of our thoughts and feelings without any judgement.
Like anything else, it takes practise and a lot of it. Try becoming the watcher of your life. Pay more attention next time your doing the dishes, brushing your teeth or going for a walk. Notice if your new practice makes you happier, more calm and aware. You may be pleasantly surprised.
